A dream come true !!
The best guide ever : James !! We recommend you to make your safari with him , it’s a very good guy passionate about his work. We spent 4 exceptional days with him, it is an experience more than enriching. We will never forget these moments, we came here for our honeymoon and we do not regret it. Do not hesitate, go ahead and book your trip with James.

Excellent service and extremely helpful guides
I have just returned from a short tour to Masai Mara, Nakuru and Naivasha with a Diani Beach extension.
Axis Safaris deserve the best possible rating. Knowledgeable and friendly guides, professional driving, good vehicles.
Highly recommended!

Loved the trip and reception
I was very nervous about booking with a local company. I found Safari Update Travels based solely on TripAdvisor reviews and I am so happy we did!
Safari Update Travels took care of all of the details of our trip. They had someone meet us at the airport and take us to our hotel in Nairobi (Best western plus Hotel - excellent). Early the next morning, Silas was at the hotel to finalize everything and so was James, our guide throughout (took us back to the airport at the end of our trip). We spent a day and night at Lake Nakuru at the Sarova Lion Hill Lodge (beautiful) and then the next 2 nights at Ashnil Mara Game Camp (perfect location and spectacular accommodations). Everyone told us Lake Nakuru was the appetizer and the Masai Mara was the main dish. They were right. We are so glad we chose the places we did, especially since we had limited time.
James was amazing! He is so knowledgeable, and the love he has for the Mara and all of the animals makes it even more enjoyable. We traveled with our family friends, and we all loved the trip!

Astonishing willlingness to make you spend a great journey
I loved our trip with African Big Cats Safaris. We first met Emmanuel. Great guy with a very positive energy. We spent one day with him. He's very attentive to all wishes you could have in order to satisfy his customers. He did not hesitate to stop when we wanted to. He investigated territories to find animals we could stare at. He gave us loads of informations about his country, the tribes and the animals. He even brought us to meet some Masai's tribe although it was unplanned. Alongside with Emmanuel we met Maulid. He's doing an internship with the company to become one of the french guides. Great young man. Very cautious and willing to learn. He stayed with us the whole trip and we even catch up on social medias afterwards.
Second guy we met and spent the rest of the week with is Lordi. We had so many good moments. He loves his country and this job and it's great to see that. Always scouting everywhere to find animals. He cares a lot about his guests. Very adaptative to our wishes. He knows so much about the animals and the areas. He deeply respects the animals. I really recommend these guys and the company to anybody willing to enjoy safaris. Not the biggest company and that is a quality. You will not feel like a wallet. These guys exert themselves for the adventure. I hope they will continue this way !!
Thank you again for this unforgettable memories.

The Perfect Safari!
I wanted a private jeep short safari, I definitely got it.
Driver: Simon was a great driver and very resourceful - He had great experience with the park and respected how close to get.
Company: Silas and Xavier were excellent to deal with my questions plus they have an easy online payment system.
Accommodation: Is obviously as per the particular type you choose (low, mid, high). Our mid range was pretty cool, considering peak season.
Masai Mara National Park: awesome, saw big 5 plus herds of wildebeest, zebra, buffalo. Whilst I had read about this I honestly didn't think I would see all of this on my first safari.
Overall - perfect safari.

Simply the best
The team at Savannah Explorers made my safari an unforgettable experience. Albert, who did the booking, was extremely responsive to my needs and requests, and very prompt in his replies. James Zakaria, our driver and safari expert, went above and beyond in making sure we experienced the best there was, from the animals we saw in the parks (Arusha, Tarangire, Lake Manyara, Ngorongoro Crater and Serengeti). However, the best part for me was that they were able to put together a safari that accommodated my needs for gluten-free foods. People with gluten intolerance or celiac disease are reluctant to travel fearing there will be no "safe" foods. However, the chefs at Marera View Lodge and Bush Camp went out of their way to make sure my food choices were gluten-free, including box lunches every day. Without everyone's help in this need, I would have missed out on what was an experience I'll never forget.

Helpful and always on time
We were on a two-day trip to Mikumi National Park. The first day we were on Safari. The second day we visited Udzungwa mountain. The safari can not compete with the large national parks in terms of wildlife and lushness, but Mikumi was very intimate - we were allowed to drive the safari car ourselves some of the way and we had to get out of the car when it was safe and get close to the peaceful animals.
We stayed at Simanga Lodge. Nothing fancy and sparse with space, but there was air conditioning and we stayed relatively little in the room, so that was fine enough. We ate at Camp Bastian, which is not the same place to stay overnight - the food was really good compared to what we have otherwise experienced in Tanzania.
All in all, a nice trip and Lenard was helpful with small issues that arose along the way. So if you are in Dar Es Salaam, and do not have the time / profit / desire for the big popular Safari places in Arusha, then Mikumi National Park can definitely do something too.
