We can recommend the safari, it was really amazing how close you get the animals, we saw leopards and lions mating and cheetah with pubbies etc. Easily saw a lot of animals and of course Big Five. We had the budget safari sleeping in tents and the own cook with us, it very nice and all the personnel were very nice. We have visited many other national parks, but still amazed how close you can get the animals in Tanzania. We are already planning the new trip. We also visited Zanzibar, lovely beaches. Next time Kilimanjaro, safari and the beaches again. We just loved it!

We spent a wonderful week in Tanzania, in the Arusha region.
We had both the time for a 4 days safari, visiting 4 beautiful parks such as Tarangire, Ngorongoro, Serengeti and Manyara. We spotted a lot of wild animals and birds, and the views were great. We booked with Lion King Adventure and we strongly recommend them for your safari, our guide was very professional and everything was just perfect.
Moreover, we had time to stay at the Africa Amini Life lodges, which support the Africa Amini Alama project, which supports the local Nuru and Masai population in the Arusha region.
We had the occasion to visit the project, with the hospital, the orphanage and the laboratories. We got in touch both with the people working for this great project and get in touch with the local population, which is simply great, always welcoming you.
We can only recommend to visit Tanzania and also support Africa Amini Alama and other similar projects to strengthen the economy and sustainable tourism of the region.

Tanzania Serengeti is absolutely amazing!

When I first entered Serengeti NP, I was sure there wouldn’t be much to see. I was pleasantly surprised in less than a few hours! The wildlife was abundant-saw the Big 5 in the central Serengeti over the course of a couple of days in addition to a female cheetah and 2 cubs. Black rhino was even wondering through the central Serengeti on my last morning drive, which apparently is extremely rare. Serengeti Heritage tented tented camp was excellent. Traveled with African Savannah Trekkers and Horace as my guide. The planning experience with Maureen from start to finish was excellent! Horace was a great guide who I would recommend to any single traveler or group.

Tarangire NP and Ngorongoro Creater were both beautiful with abundant animals, even saw a serval in the crater! Only thing I would skip if I was going back would be Lake Manyara. After seeing so much in the Serengeti, the Crater, and Tarangire, Lake Manyara was uneventful.

Most amazing quantity and diversity of wildlife I have ever seen

All great. We were very happy with Tanzania Roadside - our tour operator. This is second time that I used Safari Booking to solicit three bids (prior one was to Botswana/Zimbabwe) with great results - even better than bid from tour operator suggested by friends in Dar Es Salaam.

An unforgettable experience that’s a must!

We booked our 2-week unforgettable trip to Arusha,Tanzania and Zanzibar through Shadows of Africa. I can not stress how magnificent this experience was. To start, Shadows of Africa has top-notched standards that clearly separates them from most of the other safari tour companies. From the immediate & open communication and attentiveness to the delicious meals and professional drivers, selecting them was definitely the right move.

The lodges were nice in Arusha (Serena properties) and the Melia in the Serengeti area was a treat; however; Zuri in Zanzibar was a taste of heaven!

While in Arusha / Serengeti, we visited a Maasai village where we spent time learning their customs. That was an amazing experience which would have you questioning your very own values. Arusha is a rural area, so we felt like we were exposed to the authenticity of the town, which undoubtedly was welcomed and highly appreciated.

Zanzibar was two-folded. The first two nights were spent in Stone Town. The highlights of Stown Town were visiting the Slave Market / Museum and of course shopping. The last three nights were spent on the north end at Zuri. Again, that resort/lodge was a perfect spot to end an adventurous safari trip on the opposite side of the globe. From the decor of the bungalow and the accommodating staff to the beautiful beach and overall ambience, Zuri definitely has the “IT” factor.

All in all, Tanzania and Zanzibar are two destinations that should be to the top of everyone’s bucket list. Remember to book through Shadows of Africa and lodge at the Melia in the Serengeti area and Zuri in Zanzibar. You will not regret it!!

We did a 3 day safari with Suricata Safaris. Best experience. Rocky was our driver - he did a fantastic job, finding the animals and also talking to us about Tanzania.
Got super close to Lions, Elephants, Giraffes, Hyenas, Zebra, Buffalo, Wilderbeast, Hippos.
Also saw Cheetahs, Jackal, Vulture, and 2 Rhinos off in the distance. Loved our tour (even survived the camping part. Lol). Our chef Salim did an amazing job with all our meals. Savoury pancakes, Beef Stew, Spicy chicken, tons of fruits, so much food.
Booked with Hilary by emails who organised everything including hotel nights before & after tour in Arusha, plus airport transfers. Thanks Hilary, amazing trip.
Cheers from us Aussies.

Tanzania is an amazing place to go on safari - has a wide range of wildlife and so many different types of scenery. Serengeti provides opportunities to see so many lions, cheetahs and leopards. Ngorongoro Crater is incredible with its views, such a beautiful place! The accommodations in Tanzania are good and the food is tasty. Tented camps in Serengeti provide comfortable accommodation whilst still being able to enjoy the sounds of the wildlife.

Elephants, lions, leopards, cheetahs, wildebeest and so many more
Overall rating
5/5

My husband and I were in Tanzania for 1 week. The primary focus of our trip was a 6 day safari. We went to Tarangire National Park, Ngorongoro Conservation Area/Crater, Serengeti National Park (2 days), and Lake Manyara National Park. We really enjoyed them all with the exception of Lake Manyara. In comparison to the other areas, it did not have as much wildlife. Tarangire had the most elephants. We saw two black rhinos from a distance while at Ngorongoro and while in the Serengeti we saw many lions, cheetahs, and two leopards. The wildebeest migration was more than I expected! I never knew there would be so many hippos! That was a surprise. There were also so many other animals and birds, which just made the trip.

The weather was fantastic. I was concerned that there would still be a lot of rain since we were arriving at the end of May. It only rained one of the nights we stayed overnight in the Serengeti and it really didn't impact our visit at all.

We stayed in lodges most nights, but while in the Serengeti we stayed in a tented camp and that was definitely a great experience. It brought us much closer to the wildlife. Everywhere we stayed was good to Excellent. There were a couple of places that were somewhat unusual to get to, but were definitely worth it once we arrived -Morona Hills Lodge and Escarpment Luxury Lodge; though Morona Hills Lodge didn't have enough hot water for showers.

If I changed anything about our trip, I would add another day to our time in the Serengeti and not do the day in Lake Manyara.
