I went on a 3 day safari to Mikumi and Udzungwa National Parks with couple of friend in January 2018. The two parks are not the most famous but are interesting, especially Udzungwa Mountain with its equatorial forests and endemic species. Mikumi NP hosts most of the typical savanna species and we observed most of them. As an ecologist I was interested in all species and especially birds so I was delighted to observed and photograph a lot of them. The logistics of the safari were excellent. We stayed at Bastian lodge at the edge of Mikumi NP. Our driver from and to Dar es Salaam was very careful on the road and his driving was very safe.
I can strongly recommend Hello Tanzania and if going again to Tanzania for sure will use their services again.

No better place to go on safari

We booked a private guide/driver through Ruge, an independen in Arusha. The guide for us was Dixon. Dixon was the finest guide we have had and we have traveled the world. He used to be a porter for groups climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro and is working to earn his degree. We chose the Ngorongo Crater as home base and that proved to be the best of all options. At this time of the year (January) the migration is only 2 hours west of the crater. Thus, you have day trip access to the crater itself (actually much better game viewing there than Serengeti), Serengeti and Lake Manyara, three distinctly different ecosystems. We chose the Ngorongo Neptune Lodge, which rates among the best 2 lodges we have stayed in worldwide. This combination proved to be the best one I can possibly imagine. We have been on previous safaris to Kruger in South Africa and Botswana. We had the luxury of our personal guide, a pop up Land Rover and a 5 star resort which was all inclusive. The total cost for 5 days and 4 nights, including pick ups and drop offs at Mt. K Airport, was $4400, or $2200 per person, a tremendous bargain for this fine adventure. We added 2 days in Nairobi, including tours of the Sheldrick Elephant Sanctuary and Giraffe Center, for another $450 pp. We coordinated all this on our own, which goes to show you can pull together a customized, week long trip to Kenya and Tanzania without blowing your whole wad. We also got great fares from Kayak.com on Airline tickets.

We had a 7 day safari to Tanzania (Lake Manyara, Tarangire, Ngorongoro, Serengeti), followed by 5 days in Zanzibar. We chose a local company - World Air Travel and Tours - and could not be happier with our choice. From the start we had their support to our planning questions, helping us tailoring our trip with very timely, open and honest information which was fantastic. From day 1 upon arrival until our return we had full support in a seamless journey.
Our driver for the safari was Jon - an amazing knowledgeable guide, driver, and ultimately friend - he went out of his way to make the journey fantastic for us, and we were lucky to see the Big 5 but also a number of other nice surprises which made it all the more extraordinary. We have only the best to say about Jon, World Air Travel and Tours and their manager Elias - these guys do an outstanding job of promoting Tanzania and helped making this the best holiday we ever had!!
We definitely recommend visiting Tanzania and we certainly hope to return to this magical land which has stayed in our hearts and minds since.

Kwaza tours organised tour by car with accommodation for us to Usambara mountains and Tanga region.

We were taken to a lush green coffee farm and base camp at the foothills of Kilimanjaro and had great time. We drove to Lushoto and Bumbuli where the views were fantastic and really enjoyed our tour and stay at Mullars. We were taken to Tanga and Pangani which proved lovely places to visit. The beach in Pangani is outstanding. Accommodation was simple, very clean, and great. Our tour, organised by Kwaza in a very nice car and driver named Pemba, proved superb, caring, and we had a great time. We wish to go to Ngorongoro and Masai land next year and will let Kwaza plan the tour.

Saw the Big Five and much much more!!
Overall rating
5/5

We thoroughly enjoyed our Tanzanian safari. We visited Tarangire National Park, Serengeti National Park including the northern part near the Mara river, and Ngorongoro crater. All of the accommodations were excellent. The Simba lodge had a watering hole right next to it where we saw elephants, zebras, warthogs, and storks. The tented camps in the Serengeti were very comfortable and close to the animals, including one night with a Hippo munching on grass right by our tent! We used Makasa Tanzanian Safaris. They were very responsive to all our inquiries. Our guide, Jamal, was AWESOME! He knew where to find the animals and was also quite knowledgeable about birds. We saw 40 different animals and more than 90 kinds of birds. We saw the big 5 and much much more. Some of the highlights were:
the massing of many different kinds of animals at the Tarangire river
spotting the African Wild Dog (Cape Hunting Dog) an endangered and very rare species
viewing lots of animals at the watering hole next to the Simba Lodge
seeing a large pride of lions comprised of 2 males, 5 females, and 13 cubs
a mother lion nursing her 7 cubs (she also carried one around in her mouth)
3 wildebeest migrations across the Mara river
2 female lions stalking and killing a zebra right in front of our eyes
Spotting a rhino up close

We were lucky enough to see the big seven. The weather was great. The tent lodges were exceptional. Very clean and comfortable. Our guide David Mushi knew how to spot the wildlife from a great distance. He always put us into position to see the animals up close. The people of Tanzania are very happy and friendly. Overall a phenomenal experience.

Amazing Safari with the „big five“ — 100% recommendation

The mixture of our group (which was organized by the company) was really good and we had quite a lot of fun during the five days in one car ;-)
Our driver & guide was very experienced in spotting wild animals while driving. We were really surprised because we didn’t expect to spot that many animals. He was always up to giving us an unforgettable safari, we are very thankful for him.

Thank you so much for the organization, we made „the big five“ :-)

Saw the big five and so much more. Our guide was outstanding. I accidentally slipped and suffered a severe injury, the Tanzanian people were the most kind, helpful and compassionate you could imagine. I received excellent medical care. Highly recommend.
