We visited Amboseli National Park for a few days before crossing the border over to Tanzania. It was truly amazing. Plenty of wonderful animals with the magnificent Kilimanjaro as a backdrop is something we will never forget.

unforgettable safari with friendly and knowledgable hosts

Kenya was an unforgettable destination. We had previously safari’ed in Kruger national park, South Africa. Whilst we enjoyed this immensely, we were looking for something more ‘off the beaten track’ and less touristy. Our trip to Kenya did not disappoint. We stayed 3 days in Masai Mara, 2 days in Lake Nakuru/Lake Naivasha and a day at Amboseli, taking in the different national parks and their wildlife. August is the dry season so bush was low and game spotting absolutely fantastic: many lions, elephants, giraffe spotted, we witnessed the wildebeest migration which was an amazing highlight. We even saw the rare leopards and cheetahs and the elusive black rhino up close.

In terms of who to book with, we found Australken Tours through the safari bookings.com website. From initial enquiry to the very last few minutes in Kenya, Australken were fantastic. Special thanks to Zippy who customised our trip, was very quick to respond to our email queries and was full of helpful
Read more suggestions and ideas to create our perfect break. She was very flexible and accommodated all of our requests, even very shortly before we were due to arrive managing to secure a booking for a balloon trip.

Once we arrived, the free airport transfer was a welcome extra and from the moment we met our guide, Moses, we knew we were in safe hands. Moses’ knowledge about the parks and animals was incredible and he had a knack for finding amazing encounters off the beaten track, where no other safari jeeps were around. We felt like we had the Masai mara to ourselves!

We chose to stay in the tented camp lodges (Osero, Flamingo Hill and Amboseli Sopa). ‘Tented camp’ in fact meant a four-poster bed and fully tiled bathrooms under your canopy so we were very comfortable. The staff were without exception friendly and helpful. The lodges are in beautiful locations with luxurious communal areas, from which it is often possible to spot birds or passing wildlife. The food was always very good; the Flamingo Hill being a particular highlight.

The balloon safari option is very highly recommended; although pricey it was a wonderful way to see the sunrise and the beautiful landscape and having champagne breakfast in the bush afterwards was very special.
Our vehicle was comfortable and always clean; Moses cleaned the park dust off every evening. We had plenty of bottled water supplied for the trip.

At the end of our break, Zippy even met us at the airport to say goodbye.

Overall, we had a wonderful trip and cannot recommend Australian highly enough if you are planning on visiting Kenya

We were luckily able to spot the big 5, including the rare black rhino so that was fantastic! The weather was great, there were plenty of picturesque sunsets. The accommodation at the Sarova Mara Game Camp was very nice and the staff friendly. Our guide Danson was amazing, he went out of his way to find animals that we really wanted to see and it was always polite.

Unforgettable safari tour

Our 7-day safari tour with driver Вenado, organised by Kennedy, was fantastic, especially the leopard hunting in Masai Mara.
The safari tour is very well organised from picking up all the way until the departure at the airport (both flights were at night). Our Benadou guide told us many interesting things about Kenya's nature, history and economy, helped us to see the wildlife, looking out for various animals.
However, the living conditions in the camp did not match the description and were very poor: there was no hot water, bed linen was used by someone else, towels were very dirty. We suggest to pay for a more expensive tour, and have a wonderful vacation.

I loved our Safaris. Our guide was great. Our budget tent accommodations were okay. You can't be a picky eater if you're going to stay full while in Kenya. We were offered a lot of beans and rice and vegetables. We saw the big five in our first day. I have to admit that the drive to and from Safaris where eye-opening experiences. The traffic is horrible and there is a lot of poverty to be seen. I wasn't prepared for that. We did have some rain while we are there. But for the most part it was dry and dusty. I've been called a bit of a whiner for not being ready for some of these conditions. It is truly something you need to consider before you go. But in the end, the Safari experience will be worth it.

The wildlife and landscape is great and beyond my expectation. Felt like staying more there and didn't feel like coming out from there.

Met many Kenya people who are not honest, always try to swindle money out of visitors

1.Wildlife is great.
2.No smog control on vehicles, therefore, air pollution is serious especially in big cities.
3. Met many Kenya people (people on street, Guide/ Driver, Park security) who are not honest, always try to fool you and swindle money or taking advantage of visitors. (Some women asked me to take ONE picture for them, then asked for US$20. Tour Guide said he has no money to buy me food/water after I had paid meals/water/tour to the tour company. Security at Masai Mara asked a tip of US$ 50 for a 5 minutes walk. etc.)--I have travelled many places around the world, and I have never met so many greedy people in one place!

Amazing Safari - clearly exceeded our expectations!!

Although our trip was a mix of spending some time in Nairobi and other time on the safari, the safari experience in Kenya was simply amazing! This was a combination of excellent wild-life viewing (far beyond the big 5), one heck of a driver/guide, and really nice luxury accommodation arrangements. This I'm saying after already experiencing safari in Tanzania. I would say the highlight of the safari was Masai Mara where we got to see out of this world scenes due to the wildebeest migration going on and the Mara river crossings. On top of it, the weather was perfect in the month of August. Yes, some places in Masai Mara were rather crowded, but not to the point of spoiling the wildlife viewing experience.

Most of all, full marks to Wildebeest Safaris (Noah the coordinator, and Andrew our amazing driver).

This is my first ever visit to Kenya (Eastern Africa). Kenya is best destination for holidays due to the reason that it has beautiful climate, best wild life safaris, amazing landscape, breath taking lakes and birds centuries. Above all people are very friendly and disciplined. All type of food is easily available even Halal Food.

It has very beautiful wild national reserves.

There is a wide variety of wild lifes there to see, but if you can see them depends on your luck. Budget accommodation could be really basic, and please get prepared physically and emotionally. Hotel is pretty much the same as anywhere else. Food is really good, if you like spices or Indian inspired cuisine. Western food can always be found in hotels or lodges. Road to Maasai Mara is bad, bumpy and dusty, and to Amboseli is a disaster. In general I had a really good experience here.
