This was a trip of a lifetime-amazing!

Kenya Walking Survivors Safaris was everything they advertised. If I could give 10 stars, I would and the price was very reasonable. Our guide, Al, was so knowledgeable and actually called animals so that they stood up for us to see (black rhino). We saw all the big five as well as many, many other animals including hundreds of birds. September was a perfect month because it was nice and cool but not rainy and certainly not crowded. We traveled in a Toyota van that handled the rocky roads easily. We visited Samburu, Nakuru, Masaii Mara, Elsamere at Navaisha, Ambroselli and Tsavo. Each park was different and had its highlights. Seeing a cheetah go for a wildebeest kill and a leopard trotting down the road in front of us were highlights but just watching the hippos in the river at the Masaii Mara and the elephants at Ambroselli and Samburu was fun. At Elsamere, the animals came to us with dik-diks, warthogs, giraffes, zebras and hippos coming into the yard of the compound to graze. Our accommodations in all the parks were very comfortable and even luxurious at some places (how many hotels welcome their guests with 2 dozen beautiful roses for the room). Our guide was patient and kind making sure that we saw whatever we wanted and he worked really hard to find the animals. The people of Kenya were so welcoming to us. Everyone should experience this.

Kenya was great but NEVER GO with Safari bookings or Bushtroop Tours and Safaris is a fraud
Overall rating

Kenya was amazing, but never go with Safari Bookings as it's recommended tour operator Bushtroop Tours and Safaris is a fraud. We had arranged a visa payment well in advance and they delayed processing the 30% deposit. At the last minute they said our visa didn't go through which was unbelievable and insisted on cash payment via online transfer. We researched this company and despite our research they were a scam. Be careful! Go with someone more reputable and expensive.

Once in a lifetime

This was an awesome experience and we definitely chose the right company for this excursion. Charles Classics remained in communication with me from the moment I expressed interest and were professional every step of the way. Charles, our tour guide, was punctual, engaging and definitely knowledgeable. He fed off of our “vibes” including remaining quiet and allowing us to “be in the moment” sometimes. He spent over an hour one day searching for the White Rhino...I didn’t even know I WANTED to find it until I saw how vehemently he searched! We didn’t see it but we appreciated the effort! I feel he kept us safe around the animals and also took time to educate us about local culture. The lodging was wonderful with very attentive staff. I have already referred people to Kenya Safari with Charles Classics because the experience was amazing and once in a lifetime.

An informative, friendly, interesting overview of the city of Nairobi and surrounding area.

The giraffes and baby elephants were very well cared for and we were given interesting information about both.
The small amount of scenery that we did see (it was primarily a city tour) gave us a good idea about the African landscape.
The weather was dry, cool and enjoyable.
The food was excellent and well served.
The transportation was old but safe.
Our guide Robert was very helpful, interesting and friendly.
We especially enjoyed the Karen Blixen Museum - our young student guide Nicholas did a really good job - he was articulate, respectful and very knowledgeable, and the Kazuri Bead factory was inspirational in that it provides employment for the single mums, as well as producing beautiful, high quality products.
We were slightly disappointed with the Bomas Dance presentation, in that it was advertised as having much more music, colour, acrobatics etc. but it was still very enjoyable.
All in all, a wonderful day! Thank you and well done!

An excellent convergence of nature, wildlife, bird watching, and well trained hospitality staff.

In one word: Excellent.

I had never seen so many wild animals and different varieties of birds within such a close proximity.

The hotels should improve wi-fi service. Except at one hotel, i.e. Serena Amboseli, all others were pretty bad in wi-fi connection. Connection in public areas of the hotels was also poor.

A Kenyan Safari is a must on any bucket list.

The up side: You'll be face to face with as many big game animals as you can imagine. Strike that - it's unimaginable.
The down side: Long, uncomfortable, dusty van rides. You think you know potholes and traffic? Wrong!
Up side to the down side: Worth it!!
My biggest gripe is the constant barrage of worthless trinket hawkers.
Intangibles: meeting people on the trip is as good as the destination.
I havd a fantastic guide, Stanley - made all the difference.

Wildlife, warmth & minivans!

The views of the Rift valley with Zebras grazing by the roadside is a memory that will stay with me forever. And that was just the first day... Elephants, lions, giraffes, hippos, and numerous varieties of birds I had never even heard of were soon to come. The guides seemed to be able to answer any and every question we had about the animals, birds, insects and the traditional way of life in various regions of Kenya. And they were experienced with dealing with the challenges of driving around this huge country (even if a part or two had to be welded back onto their minivan). Despite the ongoing investment in infrastructure in the country, getting around is limited to hired vehicles with drivers, but the hours on the dirt tracks are rewarded with amazing beauty, and wonderful, friendly people! An amazing country that I hope to come back to soon

Refreshing wildlife safari

We visited Masai Mara, Lake Nakuru, Ambaselli in August 2018. Though we missed the chance to see the great migration process, still it was a great experience to see the wild life so closely. Lions, Giraffe, Zebra,Elephant, Rhino - we spent wonderful 5 days among those. Undoubtedly Masai Mara was the best among the lot. Weather was just perfect. No rain. From morning 10 to 5 PM the temperature was high & sun screen & hat were mandatory. Rest of the time the weather was very pleasant. Our tour guide Anthony was a nice person & he tried his best to help us see more & more wild. Would definitely be there once again

A very memorable experience
Overall rating

It was a trip that I will long remember. Not just for the stunning African landscape, but for the way that the trip allowed me to also experience Masai culture, the people of Kenya, and to be embraced by their friendliness. East Africa Tours provided a complete yet budget-friendly way to live and camp in the bush. Our guide, Tom, was very professional; his hard work and dedication were evident in the number and variety of animals that we saw on safari. Goshen tent camp was a very new establishment at the time of my stay, and was very accommodating. Although I could have paid more at a different camp, and had more amenities, Goshen camp provided a very friendly and personal experience. The camp manager was attentive to all of the guest’s special needs and requests, and gave special care for our safety and security. I would highly recommend the experience to anyone else wishing to experience the bush, the animals and the people of Kenya.

Everything we were hoping for.

My wife and I did a 12 day safari starting the last few days of August and the first week of September and it was outstanding. We visited the Masai Mara, Lake Nakuru, Amboseli and Tsavo East. The Mara was definitely the highlight of the trip. The wildlife there was amazing, especially the Mara triangle, although Narok county was good as well. We definitely enjoyed our experience in Kenya
