Trip of a lifetime
5/5

We had the most incredible trip, organised by Julieth who was really brilliant and made many personalisations to our itinerary, and guided by the incrediblly knowledgeable, kind and patient George.

We stayed in Heart and Soul Lodge for Tarangaire and Ngorogo Crater, in Into the Wild for our time in the Serengeti- which was the best accommodation we have ever stayed in- and Nungui Beach Resort for our time in Zanzibar. All great places to stay, with a wide variety of food both for me who is very picky (think beige, think chicken) and my husband who is more adventurous with his food!

We got to see so many animals up close. George made sure we got to all our favourite animals as well as the Big 5, with a highlight being a 2 hour old baby giraffe, two hippos who chased eachother right in front of our jeep, and a pride of lions including 3 males.

Our time in Zanzibar was also great, we especially enjoyed learning about how so many different spices and day to day producted like chocolate and coffee are grown. The staff at the hotel were amazing, teaching us how to weave, organising volleyball tournaments, and bringing us on a lovely walk of the town including to a turtle sanctuary.

An absolute trip of a lifetime, but if we were to do another safari we would not hesitate to book with Brilliant Safaris!

About: Namibia
Namibia is very interesting, it's dunes unforgettable, wildlife unbelievable, arid, worth visiting.
Overall rating
4/5

Namibia is very diverse. Windhoek, the capital beautiful, Etosha National Park full of wildlife, exciting. The skeleton coast quite unique with its city
Swakopmund very German influence and pretty. The Namib dunes, one of the oldest deserts in the world very captivating. and worth visiting. When we were there, it was quite hot, so an early walk was necessary. The landscape in some parts, pretty others very arid and dry. We travelled in our minibus thousands of kilometers to see it all, most of the roads are unsealed so we were "rock n rolled" quite a bit. As the African call it "African massage" It is not for the faint hearted or people with back problems. Due to the hot climate, we needed to buy many bottles of water daily which our tour operator did not provide. Disappointed! For the money we paid, we were expected at least water to be provided! Most of the accommodation very good. Meals Superb. All in all, it was an experience I will never forget. Would I do it again, definitely.

Very professional, cost-friendly, and excellent.
5/5

If you’re looking for a local tour operator that would not break the bank, this is it. I highly recommend Wild Media Safaris. My husband and I wanted to experience our first Safari without sacrificing comfort, and Wild Media Safaris surely delivered. Me and my husband enjoyed all our accommodations throughout our trip as they were all great and pleasant. The owners Cornel and Jackie were very accommodating with our requests. Kweka, who was our Safari Tour Guide was very professional and knew responsible tourism - something we tourists should be mindful about while enjoying the wild. We were so happy that we saw the Big 5.

Thank you so much Wild Media Safaris! We will definitely recommend you to all of our friends!

Trip of a Lifetime
5/5

Our family safari truly was a trip of a lifetime from start to end. Luice was prompt in his response to my inquiry, questions and ensuring every detail was addressed. Alfa, our driver, provided outstanding service. Not only did he guarantee our safety on the roads, but he also impressed us with his extensive wildlife knowledge and exceptional spotting abilities. Thanks to his keen eye, we observed a diverse array of animals, including elephants, lions—highlighted by a memorable sighting of a lioness with her cubs—giraffes, zebras, and many more species in their natural habitats. The accommodation arranged for us was both comfortable and welcoming. The staff consistently went out of their way to be helpful, enhancing our overall experience. A particularly thoughtful aspect was how Luice communicated my daughter’s food allergies to the lodges in advance, ensuring that her dietary needs were met and she was well cared for throughout our stay. Among the many highlights, the breathtaking scenery offering us a window into Tanzania's natural beauty. The safari hot air balloon ride, which provided unique and unforgettable views of the landscape and wildlife from above. I wholeheartedly recommend Go Giraffe Safari for anyone seeking adventure, educational opportunities, and outstanding service.

Beyond your expectations
5/5

Spirit of Kenya were a magnificent tour operator. Everything was organised to perfection and nothing was too much.

Franco our guide was so knowledgable, respectful and friendly. He had great eye for sensing out the wildlife which meant we saw all of the big 5. We saw so many animals in different environments so meant our trip was perfect.

The accommodation was amazing and food provided hit the spot in all the accommodation . We stayed in lots of different types of accommodation from tent in the wild with no fencing which was an experience as light nervous sleeper, to room within fenced area and then high end at Lake Nakuru which was out of this world.

We had a private guide for the week we were in Kenya and it might cost a bit more money but it’s more every last penny. It was a trip of a life time and one that will never be forgotten.

From the moment picked up from hotel by Blair the personal driver I was put at a very comfortable position. This guy is one of the best guides I have had anywhere in the world. Knowledgeable, honest, professional, kindhearted, made this adventure into see the silver backs the greatest. I only have one lung so trekking in was going to be hard, but Blair made this happen with a few words to the right people. This trip was not just Golden monkeys and silver backs, but it also was the country side, people, food, and the best value for money you will ever have with this company ( Big Ape)

Perfect safari experience with our amazing guide Azaria!
5/5

You know when you first meet someone and you instantly know you're in good hands? Thats how we felt from our first moments with Azaria - kind, warm, flexible and professional from start to end.

He began by carefully and thoughtfully checking alignment of his proposed scheduled with our itinerary, catching and immediately rectifying a discrepancy between his provided notes on our departure flight time and our actual departure flight time. From that moment on, for 5 days straight, he cheerfully toured us from park to park, telling us about Tanzania's culture and history, informing us of the names and significance of local villages we were passing, enthusiastically calling out animal after animal (with mad sharp eyesight and comprehensive knowledge of everything), skilfully navigating us to rare sightings (multiple cheetahs and leopards) with a combination of intuition and communication with other safari guides in the field, hustling through the inevitable safari related wear and tear of flat or damaged tyres, graciously accepting of us being a little late some mornings after breakfast, swiftly handling the paperwork and inspection processes for entering in and out of parks and always making sure we were safe and sound in our next lodge at the end of the day.

The jeep itself was perfect - well maintained, stocked with more drinking water than you'd ever need, packed lunches (sometimes cooked, sometimes sandwiches) every day with wine (!!) for lunch, two binoculars for us, and as already stated, always swiftly repaired when running into issues.

And with that jeep, and our amazing guide Azaria, we saw lions, cheetahs, leopards, gazelle Thomson, wildebeast, zebras, giraffes, elephants, hippos, crocs, Dik-diks (so adorable!), vultures, eagles, hyenas, adorable giant rodents and so much more! Highlights include a whole pride of lionesses up a tree, with the cubs stuck at the bottom and daddy lion patrolling around all the on-looking jeeps, another lion chilling at the top of a caved over tree, a lion literally sitting atop a huge rock in the middle of plains of nothingness (a la pride rock from the Lion king!), a trio of cheetahs playfully rolling in the grasp, hyenas totally disdainful of us trying to get their attention at just two meters range, a leopard snoozing up an isolated tree with a half eaten gazelle in reserve impaled on a branch in the tree, the endless cute hilarities of the warthogs who can't decide wether to be your friends or terrified of you, 8 giraffes having a tense standoff with 2 lionnesses chilling in some shade in some midday sun (they literally couldn't care less about the giraffes) as they tried to muster the courage to pass nearby, when they had all the room in the world to take a wide berth, the majestic wisdom of elephants in general, and 50 hippos all in a huge clump in a small pond could hardly be forgotten...

The lodges we stayed in were fantastic as well - ranging from the stunning Best View lodge (Lake Manyara), an exciting lux tent in the Serengeti (Nyikani camp) sleeping amidst the animals (which was quite honestly terrifying the first night when we thought what was in hindsight wind rhythmically flapping the tent to be an animal motorway crossing out tent at night), to even more on the ground camping at Pakulala with stunning views over the (Ngorongoro) crater and a camp staff member powering our hot water bush showers. Food was always good, with 3-4 course evening meals at every accommodation.

Finally, kudos to our tour planner Manuel as well, who made the creating of our customised tour effortless as well - always quick to respond, totally flexible, always grasping our needs instantly, and never giving even a hint of trying to hard sell anything - always from a place of genuine enthusiasm of improving of adjusting one's experience, if and only if requested.

Soul of Tanzania says it prides itself on creating a tailor made experience with warmth and connection and top notch service for every customer, and that is exactly what we got through every stage of the process. Absolutely nothing in the experience that I could dock points for - this is exactly what they delivered from start to end!

10/10, would go in a heartbeat again - thank you for the unforgettable experience Soul of Tanzania! :)

Great places, great people, wonderful time
5/5

We chose a 12 day tour of Zimbabwe and Botswana which proved to be an excellent option; although some parts of the drive journey were quite long, we had a very friendly and inspiring guide and a very good storyteller too, Simon, who knew how to capture our attention and tell us about African places and traditions. The safaris were excellent and I mention here Bhecki (the guide in Hwange) and Africa (the guide in Victoria Falls) who made it possible for us to see The Big Fives in the first two days :))
The accommodations were excellent, the places varied, the price-quality ratio very good, everything was organized down to the smallest detail and the people responded promptly to all our needs and questions.
So Thank you Cuckoo Safari, Thank you Simon for a memorable vacation and certainly if I were to go back there I would make the same choice!!!

Total satisfaction
5/5

Richard, our guide made the safari memorable. His knowledge of the flora and fauna hugely contributed to enlighten our experience. He knows the expanse of the parks like the back of his hand to take us right spots to watch lions, elephants, hippos, crocs, rhinos and a variety of wildlife. We thank Richard for making the safari a marvellous event
