The best First Safari Experience
Safari Update Travels was an excellent choice, I communicate with Silas who answered all my questions and helped me to rebook after my bus got delay on the way to Nairobi to join my group.
He came over to look for me at the bus station and offered to join the next group the following day.
This was my first Safari and I was a bit worried about going by myself but the experience was amazing.
Our tour guide John was great! I think he is the best driver in the whole Masai Mara. He knew where the action was so we were able to see animals very close.
I booked the budget Safari and the service, the accommodation, the food, everything has great! However, I do wish I paid the extra bucks for the mid-Lux accommodation. It was totally worth it.

The best kenya tour
We took a private tour for 14 days with a visit (Ambosely, Tsavo, Masay Mara, lakes, Sweet waters). We had a long choice between a jeep and a minibus, we settled on the second one. Despite the bad roads, the minibus was a good option with a profesional driver. Nice, friendly, helpful, knowledgeable guide was with us all the way. The hoteles were chosen according to our requirements and better than we expected. The itinerary was competently designed, with the necessary breaks in good hotels, allowed us to see the big five and did not get bored in 14 days. If desired on the way the guide will help buy fruit, souvenirs or furniture.

Duma Explorer planned the perfect family safari
We are a family of 4 (kids ages 3 and 11) and barely knew where to start planning a safari trip to Tanzania. Stacy, the owner of Duma Explorer responded the next morning with a great itinerary. I instantly connected with her since she lives in the Bay Area and is also a parent. She tailored our safari trip as we continued to communicate. Most safaris require a large down payment, so it’s critical you trust the company arranging your trip. Duma Explorer delivered an incredible itinerary, great vehicles, and most importantly, an AMAZING guide, Ebenezer. He was extremely knowledgeable, very patient, and had great interaction with our kids. We were very fortunate to have Ebenezer as our guide on this once-in-a-lifetime trip.
We saw so many animals in every location - words can't describe it. Just in the Ngorongoro Crater, Ebenezer guided us straight to a pride of 9 lions pursuing herds of wildebeests and buffalo. We were very lucky to see a Black Rhino and there were hundreds of animals including spotted hyaenas, golden jackals, impala, wildebeests, buffalo, gazelles, hippos, elephants, zebra, flamingos, and many more. In the Serengeti, the wildebeest migration filled the horizon with animals. We were fortunate enough to see a leopard, and on the last day, we watched a cheetah chase a Thompson gazelle.
Our itinerary was in/out of Kilimanjaro, Tanzania (JRO), had 12 days in Tanzania from mid-March to late March 2022. We only have great things to say about each of the locations we visited and stayed at. We spent 1 day in Tarangire National Park | stayed at the Elewana Tarangire Treetops (great staff, wonderful experience), 2 days at Ngorongoro Crater | stayed at Ngorongoro Crater Lodge (amazing property, staff, and views!), 3 days at Lemala Ewanjan Camp in Central Serengeti (great location, awesome staff, and accommodations), 4 days in Zanzibar (2 nights at Zanzibar Serena, 2 nights Melia Zanzibar, which was pure luxury).

Fantastic
We had an incredible experience with Imani excursions in Tanzania and would highly recommend. Our guides were genuine, friendly, funny and caring. They provided a high quality safari experience that was everything we had hoped for from our African Adventure. The animals were amazing and we learnt a lot from our guides.

Professional in every way
Cearl was our tour operator. After interviewing us, she went about organizing the perfect trip. We were supposed to go 4/2020 and we subsequently had to reschedule the trip 3 more times before we went this year. She canceled and rebooked this long trip for us each time professionally and patiently. We even changed the itinerary once. This was a fantastic trip, exceeding our expectations. At the end, we tested positive for Covid ( we had no symptoms) and could not fly back to the USA. We found out late in the evening of our last night. I emailed Cearl and she was on the spot, explaining the next step and setting us up to quarantine in a wonderful place. It is so important to have a good tour operator. Also, we are thankful we got travel insurance.

The most amazing experience!
Everything on our trip was really perfect thanks to Hans, Patrick, Ismail, the rest of the guides and staff, and of course thanks to Tanzania having so many beautiful places :)
We stayed at the Lost in Africa hotel, did the 3 day Mount Meru hike, and the 4 day safari in Tarangire, Ngorogoro, Serengeti.
We would definitely recommend booking with Lost in Africa. We really had the best experience ever. We didn’t have any personal recommendations to go off of but Hans was so friendly and helpful when we contacted him that we felt like we definitely wanted to book with Lost in Africa. We went for it and we were more than happy with our decision.
The Lost in Africa hotel itself is a really cool place to stay and we enjoyed our nights there. The staff there and Hans are all really nice and went above and beyond. The food was also delicious.
For the hike, our guides Ismail and Patrick and the rest of the team really made it a great experience for us and it exceeded our expectations. We had a wonderful time and would love to do Kilimanjaro in the future with them.
The safari was truly amazing. Patrick is a great safari guide and we enjoyed exploring for four days with him. He’s very knowledgeable and seemed to know the parks like the back of his hand, and he’s also very professional, and funny. We managed to see all of the big five very quickly and saw so many animals the whole time. He adjusted our plans a little along the way to make sure we would have the best experience and everything worked really well.
If we get the chance to go back we will definitely book again with Lost in Africa and highly recommend it!
Thanks so much!
