Meijo magic in Tanzania!
5/5

I can highly recommend Meijo Safaris. We booked ‘The Best of Safari, Lake Eyasi & Lake Natron’ with mid-range accommodation.

Meijo is a small company that gives you the personal touch. I was impressed that Daudi, the owner, met us at the airport and saw us off the following day. He also met us on our return.

They put together the perfect tour for us to appreciate the best of Tanzanian Safari in the short time we were there. Daudi was easily contactable to discuss options and answer our questions.

We were happy with all our accommodation and were lucky enough to be upgraded twice due to availability.

We could not have asked for a better driver and guide, Herman/Superman/Super/Soops. He is a very experienced guide and well known to all the tour guides. His eagle-eyed spotting of big and small wildlife blew our minds. We were often ‘ahead of the pack (other tour operators)’ with spotting and we were so grateful that he was respectful to the wildlife and their space. Herman was a true gentleman which is important because you land up spending a lot of time with your guide on a trip like this.

I will always have fond memories of our picnic lunches. Due to our dietary requirements we were served hot meals in the middle of nowhere. Amazing!

If you want to do a similar trip to ours please be prepared to spend a lot of time in a car covering large distances. The roads were often in bad condition so it can be hard going but totally worth it!

We received numerous quotes from other operators and believed this tour was very well priced. We were also very pleased to be able to support Tanzanian businessmen who are passionate about their country’s natural wonders.

Thank you Meijo for an experience of a lifetime!

Ask for James and Silas - Maasai Mara experience for wildebeest and zebra crossing
5/5

Highly recommend!! Ask for James and Silas - James helps with bookings and Silas will ensure you have an incredible safari full of animal sightings/photos and of course fantastic hospitality. We stayed at the Rhino Camp that is close to the Masaai Mara; the cooks are wonderful and make very tasty food.

On our safari, Silas made sure we saw wildcats in the wild and also his experience gave us a good chance to witness a Wildebeest Migration/Crossing. Wow , wow, wow. Words are not enough to highlight how happy and awesome it will make you feel. Nature is beyond imagination.

Thank you so much Silas and James!

Wonderfull Safari
5/5

I visited with my family the most important parks in Tanzania with Safari Avventura. our guide Omary, very knowledgeable and nature lover, made us fall in love with everything around us; Baraka, our driver helped make our holiday unforgettable with his unfailing smile and concern for us. the organization was flawless; we really appreciated the fact that every morning the car was clean, internally and externally, that the picnic was not with simple lunch boxes but with respectable foods; from rice to chicken, beef, vegetables, fruit, dessert, complete with tablecloths, cutlery and steel crockery that are always clean. during the last evening my son had a very high fever and vomiting and Gianluca and Fransis immediately gave us the most complete willingness to face the problem even though it was late at night, sending us an Italian-speaking assistant to the lodge who accompanied us to the hospital and followed in all bureaucratic procedures. chapeau!!!!!

DAVID a great professional and friendly safari guide
5/5

From Manyara to Natron lake, via Tarengire, Serengeti and Ngorongoro, David shared with us his deep knowledge about wildlife and his love for his wonderful country and cultures, he drove carefully and even helped to rescue other tourists whose vehicle was not as reliable as Lomo’s 4x4. David is fluent in French which was highly appreciated by our children of 10 & 12. Well organised, friendly, devoted to our comfort and security, we are very grateful to David for making unforgettable our trip in Tanzania.

Sian listened to what we were looking for and made great suggestions. Her communication was great.
5/5

We were looking to explore two different areas in Botswana. Sian listened to what we wanted and helped create a great itinerary for us within our budget. We enjoyed our time at Ghoha Hills lodge. Our guide, rooms, and the staff were all great. The location up on the hill overlooking the watering hole was beautiful. I would recommend the lodge. We also enjoyed Khwai Lediba. We weren’t sure if it would feel as “polished” since it was brand new, but clearly African Bush Camps know what they are doing. Our guide was from the area and knew exactly where to go to see what we wanted and entertained us with stories along the way. The rooms and the staff were also great. The lodge area is not as big as Ghoha Hills but the rooms were beautiful and they utilize every space (for example, having pregame drive breakfasts by the beautiful fire pit). This camp was built right by the delta- I am sure it is spectacular when it is surrounded by water. We had elephants walking through camp at night. The variety of the two camps was exactly what we were looking for. The Savuti area was dry and the Khwai / Moremi areas gave us more of the delta experiences (mokoro excursion, hippos, crocs) while still allowing for game drives. Sian guided us in the right direction and every detail was taken care of (flights, vouchers, advice about tipping). It was a wonderful family experience for us with our 21 and 23 year olds.

Great safari and truly personal service
5/5

We enjoyed an outstanding and truly memorable safari with Shinzelle in March 2023. It was five days and four nights split between two lodges in different private game reserves in the Hoedspruit/Balule area. We toured the Blyde River Canyon area one day and another a full-day safari in the Kruger National Park. Otherwise it was early morning and evening safari drives in the reserves, including the evening of our arrival and the morning of our departure. The lodges were beautifully set in wild areas, but yet comfortable, with great service, and great food. Each had its own distinctive character, the first we especially loved the shaded dining area with "infinity" pool on an elevation with a view-to-die-for of the Drakensberg mountains and the sunsets. We found this lodge hard to leave. The second, we loved the separate, private, comfortable, round-cottage-type rooms with airy, high thatched-roof ceilings. Throughout, we enjoyed fabulous game drives, with different types of experiences in the different reserves and Kruger NP. Our first drive, in the light of the early evening, and then into the dark, we spent much of the time following a pride of lions on the move and looking to hunt. In another we found ourselves surrounded by 40 or more elephants for an extended period, with many young, and many large females, all happily feeding. I think the highlight was the all-day Kruger tour, simply for the abundance of wildlife, large herds of zebra, giraffes, buffalo, elephants, impala, and too many others to be listed. (It was March, there had been good rains and things were very green with abundant grass, very beautiful.) Also, birds. The only predators we saw at Kruger were a pack of wild dogs that were resting and relaxing beside the road, and that we sat and watched just a few feet from us for quite a while. But we had already had multiple intimate encounters with lions, so no problem there. Logistically, things were well organized and smooth. Shinzelle had a guide (Johnny, who we loved) assigned to take care of us for other than the safari drives in the private reserves. So he guided our Blyde and Kruger tours. A nice thing about visiting in March (other than the nice weather and the bountiful grass and flowers) was that the lodges were not very busy so we had very small groups on the drives, and it was just us for Blyde and Kruger, so we had a good chance to get to know our guide. We took the transfer van from OR Tambo to Hoedspruit and back. This was efficient and worked out fine. My thought is that the journey is quite long and in some places the road is not great. If cost is not important you might consider flying.

Best Safari, best Guide, best experience!

Rezension QT

Me and my wife had a great time with Qualified Tours! Our Guide Mdee was very friendly and we had a lot of fun in our car driving around the different national parks.
He was always open for questions and individual wishes while always helping us with his experience making decisions e.g. regarding our time schedule.
Our car was very comfortable, had a little fridge and the possibility for charging our phones or our camera.
With Mdee we saw the big five, a hunting lion, the Impressive crossing of hundreds of wildbeest of the Mara River and a lot more.
He also told us a lot about tanzanian culture and also some swahili words. He even organized a little surprise birthday party for my wife by our nice maasai hosts of the maasai giraffe eco lodge at Lake Natron.
We simply had an unforgettable time with Qualified Tours and we strongly recommend to do your safari with them. Of course you have to be lucky when doing safaris since nature is unpredictable but they did everything to make our trip the best we ever had.
