Amazing
We just finished the most amazing safari with Suricata. We had the best driver who knew everything about all the animals and was really good at finding all the great spots where we could see all the animals really close.
Besides seeing amazing animals and nature, we also had the best chef who cooked homemade meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
We really enjoyed the company of our driver and chef and would recommend this trip to everyone we know!

General: Great service by Antoinette who was helpful and very dedicated to help us booking our South Africa experience. She showed us lots of different options and recommended her favourite stays. Overall an absolute 5 star service!
Accomodations:
- Klaserie River Safari Lodge: Perfect place for the first stay in the region, staff was very limited due to low numbers in travellers (covid) but did an excellent job! A true feel good place right at the Klaserie River. Our guides Lauren and Herman were very dedicated to make it the best stay ever. Great value for the money. Would definitely recommend this place!
- Hamiltons Tented Camp: Outstanding private luxury lodge where you won't miss a thing. From location, food, game drives to service this is what I call high end. Prices are high but standard for this kind of place.
- Muluwa Lodge: Nice stay on the way from Kruger back to Joburg. We only had one night but I would recommend staying at least two nights. Beautiful scenery and lovely tents with great views. Food was tasty and the staff very friendly.
- Spier Wine Farm: Large vineyard with nice accomodation. The place is created with lots of love, the garden is beautiful and invites to hang around and have a picnic. Wine was not our favourite but tastes are different so you might like it for sure!
- Mont Rochelle: Luxury Hotel on a vineyard owned by Richard Branson. Probably our favourite location in the area if you want to relax for a day or two. Overall excellent service, great food and lovely stuff. Price is high but worth the money.
- Mosaic Lagoon Lodge: Hidden gem right at the Klein River Lagoon. Staff was again superb, food great and lots of activities to do. If you don't like to stay right in Hermanus this is the place to go to!
- Lagoon Beach Hotel: A bit off the city trouble but still just a 15 mins drive to the waterfront. It's a standard hotel like any other. Room was clean, breakfast okay and they offered a free shuttle to the centre.
- Cape Milner Hotel: Nice place close to Bo Kaap, walking distance to the city centre. Can recommend the place if you would like to stay in the city.

Unforgetable safari tour!
We had an amazing 4-day safari tour with Suricata Safari, truly beyond expectations! Our guide was able to share interesting information on the wildlife we met and landscapes we passed, and our chef cooked excellent tasty and healthy meals for us three times a day.

This was the second time we traveled on a multi-day safari to Kruger NP with Elephant Herd (2016 and 2021). We chose Elephant Herd the first time because of the very punctual response on our questions. Brendon, the owner, is always very helpful in giving advise. The 2 guides we had were simply the best and they spared no effort to make our tyrip very memorable.

Unforgettable experience
It was a great experience! All the members of the company are very kind and helpful. We loved the accomodations during the Safari (except the first one, that was just ok), especially the tented lodge. The meals were very fresh and tasty! The boss cooked it himself and everytime we had more than enough food for all!

Everything was perfectly organized and tailored to our needs
The price performance ratio was more like fair. We were allowed to experience so much. We could see the big five. Our guide always looked carefree and happy. In my opinion, David has the most beautiful job in the world and he shares the same feeling with his guests. We both really appreciated his commitment. David was the first one who was awake. Took care of the route, provisions and everything around it and did it with the same care and ease as I have seen before. Our guide even helped us to organize a SIM card to be mobile on the go. His knowledge of nature and animals was extensive and no question went unanswered.
What our chef (Syleman) conjured up on the table exceeded our expectations. The one is a magician. We will always remember what food he conjured up out of his steel box.

Perfect Safari
I did a safari with Safari Update Travels. My safari was solo and I went to Lake Nakuru for a day and Masai Mara for 3 days. My experience was Amazing! Using Safari Update Travels for my safari experience was perfect. Silas was prompt to answer all the questions I had. James was my guide and I could not have asked for a more awesome guide. Best of the best
Adventure began as Lordy and James picked us up at the airport. We were tired travelers but they took us to the hotel and tucked us in. Good feeling right from the start.
We had James as our guide for 13 days. We were two older women and an adult daughter.
We did a big loop. James was fun, knowledgeable. He wanted to know what was important to us and then he delivered.
In the middle of our trip, his uncle died. So we also got to hear about how things are worked out in families in Africa. Each day he’d give us a spirited update on the family get together, always with a sense of humor.
Just one more slice of the Tanzania pie.
One morning in Central Serengeti, he said…. Let’s go see a Cheetah catch a meal. Ok.
And sure enough, he spotted a mom with her baby and we stopped and watched. He told us her every move. Then BAM she took off like a rocket. The gazelles were 1/4 mile away and she got one. Incredible. We were the only ones to see it.
We were thrilled with Lordy at Ngutu keeping things smooth ahead of us and James with us every day. Right down to getting Covid results in time to fly. We are singing their praises. And yes we saw the Big 5.
And about Covid. We felt safer in Tanzania than on the streets of Seattle. No crowds in the park. Tanzania is hungry for the Americans to return.
