An experience of soul
Overall rating
5/5

It was a great experience, african people is kind e reliable, with a very big heart. Looking at wild life was like be in a documentary. The people is very friendly, sometimes in local villages you would live the diversity of “white man” as source of income, don’t stop at their need of dollars and open your heart! The food mainly cooked like soup, and based on meat, vegetables , a lot of banana, rice and Spices.
The accommodation in safari was camping , excellent experience, our guide and our chef did everything to make us feel good.

We booked our 5 day safari trip to Tanzania with Bestday Safari’s and had a great experience.
Our english speaking guide and driver David was the best guide you could wish for, he had lot of knowledge about the wildlife and is an excellent driver and a relaxed an flexibel person.
We visited Serengeti for 2 days and stayed overnight at the campsite of bestday safari’s.
The tents were excellent and the food at the campsite was the best we had during our holiday.

Peter the owner of bestday safari’s met us at the start of the safari and when we came back he also
did a debriefing to check if everything went according to our expectations.
We had a wonderfull safari experience with our family thanks to Bestday Safari’s.

Very friendly people. Accomedation differs from real African to luxurous.
Especially our Tented Camp in Mikumi was outstanding.

Disadvantage : plastic bags are not allowed anymore but plastic bottles are really all over the place. What a rubbish!

The Safari was wonderful. Great National Parks with lots of animals to see.

The Safari tour we were on brought us to various National Parks and it was exciting to see animals living in the wild instead of zoos. The scenery was beautiful and the weather was colder than we expected during the night. All in all it was great!

Nice people and a wonderful nature

We were on a 7-days private safari tour in Tanzania and visited southern parks. No mass tourism on the south. These parks are very nice, just the distance between them is so long that I would recommend adding two days more to fully enjoy parks. Not a lot of tourists gives you additional moments to be more connected with nature. Driving from one park to another, we saw a lot of towns, villages, and forests. Weather was nice, little windy, low humidity. In the evening, long sleeves and long trousers are nice and protect against mosquitos. Additional protection against mosquitos were handkerchiefs with 30% DEET, and this combination was good protection. Don't drink tap water, but you have enough bottled water everywhere. Use this water also for washing teeth and you will be on sure side against hepatitis A, typhoid and similar diseases. Mid-range lodges were nice, with mosquito nets. Service in those lodges was very good, just in Ruaha Hilltop Lodge drivers were not allowed to have dinner with us, what was for me unrealistic. After requesting an additional seat at the table for the driver, we could have the meal together. Our driver Ibra was very professional. He has a lot of experience to find animals in secret places. Taking an evening boat trip on Rufiji River was fantastic. The morning walking safari accompanied by the armed ranger in Selous was unforgettable. In general, Selous, Ruaha, and Mikumi have nice scenery, nice wildlife, and are very impressive. Shortly, the organization of the trip with Wildness Safari Tanzania was good. Just ask for a good, comfortable car.

Tanzania is a typical African country, which bets on nature tourism, and from what I could observe, well, because everything I expected, came true.
It is a beautiful country, with a huge wildlife at hand, where you feel how precious it is to maintain, beautiful.

Great Safari, crappy car which cause troubles
Overall rating
4/5

It was great safari experience we booked with Migration Ventures Africa LTD, during short period of time we got see almost all animals from very close distance (like next to the car)

However the car was '92 Land Cruiser which couldnt start even before the trip (need a push to start) and with that we took 400km ride from DAR to Mikumi park. So things wouldnt be bad but on the way back our car broke down and we spent 5 hours in the sun with no food waiting for it to be fixed. We had to hurry to the airport for our flights (connecting ones!) and were complete freaking out we're not gonna make it. There was no back up plan or any plan to get us another car - just expectation for miracle to happen.

It did happen and we happilly made it to the airport but honestly, you should not risk it that way.

Other than that experience was really authentic and cool so I would recommend getting to the part by plane (not 8 hours or more drive) and enjoy the show. Or at least dont plan it just before the flight...

Loved the crater and Serengeti, so unique and so full of animals.

We have been to Africa a number of times, but a few things stood out and were unique about Tanzania - we really enjoyed our family trip.

The features of the Ngorongoro crater and the vibe down there were once in a life time. Absolutely teaming with animals and we saw lions feasting on their kill. It was a highlight just to stand on the rim and look down at this unique geological feature.

The vastness and amount of animals in the Serengeti. We did see the migration crossing, but on the Mara side we experienced some quiet peaceful Africa too.

The itinery that Wayfairer put together was perfect and the accomodation mostly perfect too. We especially enjoyed the 2 Serengeti camps - Chaka Camp and Kati Kati camp. Wayfairer were quick to react to our requests.

Unfortunately the guide we had during the 8 days was not great, a contrast to the overall friendly and fun loving local people, we enjoyed that interaction. One thing did bother us, which I have not seen elsewhere in Africa, is the amount of vehicles that will crowd around animals, kills, crossings, literally stopping the dynamics of the crossing. There seems no respect or protocol and it did put us off.

Otherwise, wonderful trip.

Hotels and luxurious camps were excellent but not happy with the guide provided by Savannah Explorer
Overall rating
3/5

We booked our safari with Savannah Explorers whose service was excellent when booking etc. The land cruiser provided could be improved. We saw a lot of wildlife except including gazelles, antelopes, zebras, wildebeest, giraffes but the lions, lionesses, leopards, cheetahs were extremely rare. The best wildlife was in North Serengeti and Central Serengeti. Not much wildlife Ngorongoro and Lake Manyara was a waste of time - did not sea any tree lions. We stayed in Wellcome lodges and camps which were excellent, top class. The food was great when in the lodges and camps but unfortunately got fed of up picnic lunches, so carry your own foodstuff as well, as there is very limited stuff they can offer for picnic lunch boxes. Make sure when you book, you mention to the company to give you a knowledgeable guide who is familiar with the surroundings, knowledgeable of the wildlife, and all the roads in the park as unfortunately our guard was not up the standard and hence were disappointed somewhat regarding e service we got from him. Overall we were happy with the company but there is room for improvement in certain areas. I am happy to recommend this company provided an excellent guide/driver is provided. Make sure you have a good camera with excellent zoom to take good pictures.

Tanzania is a beautiful country filled with very kind, welcoming people. I always felt safe. The wildlife was stunning - lots and lots of lions. Cheetahs, the wilder beast migration and more. We saw the big 5 in 1 day. Loved it!
