Kenya: Where Wildlife and Freedom Meet

Kenya is truly a paradise for wildlife. Unlike animals in zoos, those in Kenya live freely — and so did we.
We visited Kenya in June and saw herds of elephants crossing the open grasslands, with the snow-covered peak of Mount Kilimanjaro in the background at Amboseli National Park. At Lake Nakuru, we had the chance to observe both black and white rhinos up close. And in the Masai Mara, we experienced a powerful sense of freedom while exploring the wild on safari.
One trip to Kenya simply isn’t enough. The first visit felt like an introduction, and the next will be more focused. Our goal next time is to witness the incredible wildebeest river crossing.
Kenya has opened our minds and expanded our perspective. The spirit of its wildlife stays with us, long after the journey ends.

Kenya is home to warm, English-speaking locals who warmly welcome tourists, and the country offers a wide variety of safari tour packages for wildlife lovers. Upon arrival, we checked into the Chester Hotel, conveniently located in the heart of the Westlands area in Nairobi's CBD. Our serviced apartment was well equipped, allowing us to enjoy both local cuisine and a bit of home-style cooking.
To get oriented, we joined a free walking tour of Nairobi, which introduced us to the city's history, important landmarks, and vibrant culture. It was a great way to begin our adventure.
After three days in Nairobi, we embarked on a 4-day safari organised by Sunnycreek Safaris. The itinerary included visits to the Masai Mara and Lake Nakuru National Parks. We were fortunate to see all of the Big Five, and a particularly unforgettable moment was watching a lion pride feed on a cape buffalo carcass up close. Our safari was conducted in a 4x4 Land Cruiser, and

we stayed in comfortable safari lodges. The food throughout the trip was excellent.
The 4-day safari cost $850 per person, which included all park entrance fees. For an additional $20 per person, we visited a traditional Maasai village—a true highlight of the trip. We enjoyed a Maasai dance performance, which our entire group joined in on. The villagers welcomed us into their homes, showing us where they cook, sleep, and explaining how they care for and protect their livestock from predators.
By the end of the trip, we knew we’d be back—next time, for an even longer safari holiday.

Incredible sceneries and wildlife in the Mara national reserve. However some of the practices around driving and the numbers of vehicles were disappointing. One of many examples was a cheetah that was searching to hunt was surrounded by over 10 vehicles that kept moving and being in his way as he was walking along. That was not enjoyable, let's admire nature with respect.

Amazing experience! I worried about visiting Kenya as a female solo traveller but everything was perfect. I chose Inspired feet Safari and I never regret that. Definitely Kenya deserves more time for exploring than just one week.

Our trip to Kenya was a fabulous experience that has left us wanting for more!
The culture is unique with the Masai tribes lining the way to Masai Mara with their colourful cloaks, a wealth of herds of cattle and the beauty of the people.
We enjoyed very moment from the tent accommodation next to Masai Mara and the wonderful hotel at Nakuru Lake, to the local food and the scenery at each location - it was a humbling and fulfilling trip.
Above all, being able to see the wild and majestic animals of the Savanah and jungles was unforgettable and so breathtaking that we didn’t know which way to turn with so much to see, hear and admire. We were fortunate to have an incredible guide and driver, Aron, who made the difficult terrain look like a walk in the park, his constant smile was reassuring, and his knowledge of the parks was incomparable - he could camouflaged animals from a mile - amazing!
Thank you to Safari bookings for this well tailored experience,
